# AI credits

> How AI usage is measured and what consumes credits.

Prozly meters AI usage in **credits**. Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance; credits reset at the start of each billing period.

## What consumes credits

Any action that calls the AI consumes credits, for example:

| Action                    | Examples                                                      |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Transforms** | Turning a source item, brain dump, or voice note into a draft |
| **Variations** | Generating hook and post variations |
| **Images** | Post images, infographics, carousels |
| **YouTube repurposing** | Turning a video into text posts |
| **Extension comments** | AI comment suggestions on LinkedIn |
| **Dashboard suggestions** | AI content tips |

The exact cost per action is shown in the app before you run it. Simple text generations cost less than image generations.

## Checking your balance

Your current credit balance and usage history are under **Settings → Billing & Usage**. You'll see which features consumed credits and when.

## Running out of credits

When your workspace runs out of credits, AI actions pause until the next billing period — your existing drafts, schedules, and published content are unaffected. You can upgrade your plan at any time to raise the allowance; see [plans](/billing/plans).

<Note>
  Reviewing, editing, scheduling, and publishing existing drafts never consumes credits — only new AI generations do.
