Uploading your LinkedIn export is one way to teach Prozly your personal voice, without installing the Chrome extension. See writing samples for the other options.

1. Request your export from LinkedIn

  1. Open Get a copy of your data on LinkedIn. You can also get there from your photo (Me) at the top, then Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Get a copy of your data.
  2. Choose Download larger data archive. This is the option that includes your posts.
  3. Click Request archive and confirm with your LinkedIn password.
  4. Wait for LinkedIn’s email “Your LinkedIn data archive is ready”. It usually arrives within a day.
  5. Open the email (or come back to the same LinkedIn page) and click Download archive. The link works for 72 hours.
If LinkedIn offers Want something in particular? with Posts in the list, ticking only Posts is faster.
While you wait, you can paste a few posts instead, see writing samples.

2. Upload it to Prozly

Go to Settings → Brand & Voice → Your writing samples, open the Upload LinkedIn export tab, and choose the file. You can upload either:
  • the ZIP file LinkedIn sends you, as it is, or
  • just the Shares.csv file from inside it.
The file is read in your browser; only the posts file is sent to Prozly. Maximum file size is 20 MB. You’ll see the same option during onboarding, on the LinkedIn step.

What Prozly imports

Prozly reads the text and date of your newest 50 posts. Reposts without your own added text are skipped, and any media or other data in the export is ignored. When the upload finishes, you’ll see a message like:
Imported 42 posts from your LinkedIn export
These samples are added to your writing samples alongside anything pasted, imported from the extension, or answered in the interview. Prozly uses them as examples of your voice in suggested notes, hooks and post drafts.
If the file is larger than 20 MB, request only Posts in your LinkedIn export, or upload the Shares.csv file on its own.
